In offering to the public this Catalogue of Mr. Rice's Library, it is almost unnecessary to say anything further about the Books than to commend the Cata logue itself to the careful reading of our book-buying friends; but custom has made it almost imperative to submit some preliminary remarks, which in this case, however, will be mainly confined to an enumeration of the leading books, in the various departments of litera ture, in which the Library is especially strong.
