Having been much among Students, their benefit has been largely in the author's View, as well in the pulpit discourses which bulk so largely in the volume, as in the college addresses proper. He submits them with some humble confidence as illustrations of rules which he was wont to insist upon Not only would he show what he means by preaching Christ, in connection with whatever special subject, but by preaching the word.
