Excerpt from The Hope of the World: An Essay on Universal Redemption
The question which is commonly stated by evangelical teachers, and which their theology has been an attempt, more or less successfully, to answer, is, What must I do to be saved from future punishment and it is constantly assumed, if a solution can be found to this query, that the individual believer has a ground of peace and comfort and personal assurance of safety upon which he can rest. To him, then, belong all the hopes and promises of the gospel, while those who have not arrived at the same solution, and rested upon the same means of salvation, are eternally lost.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the central propositions of traditional Christian thought about Judgement Day, Hell, and Heaven. The author exposes the ways in which these concepts have been misrepresented and misunderstood. In particular, the book highlights the errors in the doctrine of eternal punishment for the majority of humanity. The author demonstrates that these ideas are incompatible with a moral and meaningful understanding of God, and that they are not supported by the Bible itself. The book offers an alternative interpretation of Christian doctrine, one that is based on love, justice, and the hope of universal redemption. This book is essential reading for anyone who seeks a more compassionate and just understanding of Christianity.
