Excerpt from Benedictus Dominus: A Course of Meditations for Every Day of the Year
The Antiphons belonging to the Benedictus have been chosen as the basis of these Meditations, and the Opening words of that Canticle seem to supply a fitting name for the series. Surely we ought to approach our Meditation constantly with an utterance of Blessing and Praise to our Covenant God. It is hoped that this Book will thus have a particular interest and use fulness for those who are in the habit Of reciting the Canonical Hours.
It will not be the less serviceable for Churchmen at large. These Antiphons are themselves generally culled from the Scriptures which occur for use in the Com munion Service Of the day, and are of course suitable in themselves for the particular season at which they are found.
