Excerpt from Endless Sufferings: Not the Doctrine of Scripture
The following discourses, with the exception of one, which was delivered more recently, were addressed in the spring of last year to a country congregation, consisting almost exclusively of gentry and their servants. Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the nature of God and the fate of humankind after death. The author grapples with a fundamental question of Christian theology: what happens to those who are deemed wicked? While some traditional interpretations espouse the idea of eternal torment in hell, the author challenges this dogma, arguing that it is both unreasonable and contradicted by the majority of scriptural passages. He instead proposes that the ultimate fate of the wicked is absolute destruction, a complete cessation of existence. This book offers a fresh perspective on a centuries-old theological debate, inviting readers to reconsider their assumptions about divine justice and the afterlife. Through insightful analysis of key biblical texts, the author presents a compelling case for a more nuanced understanding of God's love and the ultimate destiny of humanity.
