The author administered five tests that measured intelligence in various ways, including verbal fluency, memory, and inductive reasoning. The results found that while the delinquent girls performed less well than the college students, they were comparable to the other two groups, suggesting that intellectual ability is not necessarily a significant factor in delinquency. This book contributes to the larger discussion of the causes of delinquency and challenges the assumption that intellectual deficiencies are a significant factor.
