IN presenting the public with a Second Series of Random Recollections of the Lords and Commons, the author begs to state, that he has done everything in his power to insure the greatest possible accu racy in his statements. The difficulty of avoiding errors in a work embracing so many statements and facts, and which is entirely original, can be known only to those who have been employed on similar productions. The author deems it unnecessary to repeat what he stated in his preface to The Bench and the Bar, namely, that he has been most anxious to guard against anything like ill natured remark, and that his earnest desire has been to write in the Spirit of perfect impartiality.
