Excerpt from Laws of the State of Wisconsin, Relating to Common Schools: With Regulations for Appeals, Libraries, &C., Instructions for School Officers, Forms for Conducting All Necessary Proceedings Under Said Laws, and a Digest of the Decisions Made by the State Superintendent Which Are of General Application
Sec. 52. It shall be the duty of the state superintendent, on or before the tenth of February in each year, to apportion the amount of school moneys to be distributed in such year, among the several counties of the state, and the share of each county among its respective towns and cities such apportionment shall be made among the several towns and cities, according to the number of children in each, over the age of four and under the age of twenty years, according to the returns thereof as made to his office for the preceding year.
