In this course of art instruction the aim of the authors has been to develop naturalistic drawing into design, and to apply it to construction work, in the belief that the realistic is valuable in so far as it is developed and applied in this larger way. The study of design is the foundation for the cultivation of artistic, creative, and critical ability and through this cultivation, judg ment will be strengthened and appreciation developed.
