In the discussion which followed Duschak and Hulett's2 work on the silver coulometer the point was made by Mr. Hering3 that, since platinum is known to contain oxygen in some form, it seems possible that dissolved oxygen may play some part in the deposition of silver, and it would naturally follow that abnormal weights might be caused thereby.
