Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book scrutinizes a 1783 pamphlet proposing the East India Company build and navigate its own ships. The author dissects the pamphletâs claims and reasoning, exposing numerous fallacies that undermine its credibility. Delving into the historical context of East India Company management, the book highlights the prior mismanagement and abuse of power by Directors, demonstrating that the proposed scheme would only exacerbate these issues. Rather than resolving the Company's financial problems, the author argues that the plan would amplify its debt and introduce new avenues for corruption. The book concludes that the pamphlet's arguments are deeply flawed, and its proposed solution would be detrimental to the Company's interests.
