Excerpt from 1914 Illustrated and Descriptive Catalog of Whitin Cotton Waste Machinery and of Various Systems of Working Cotton Waste
This catalog is intended to bring before the thoughtful con sideration of textile manufacturers the processes and machinery required for the Reclamation of Cotton Waste.
The economical and profitable disposal of the waste products of a cotton manufacturing plant has become a problem of the greatest importance to manufacturers on account of the prevailing high prices of cotton and labor necessary to convert it into market able goods. The reclamation of the waste products of a mill affords simple means for the manufacturer to reduce his manufacturing expense to a minimum.
To meet the demands of progressive manufacturers for a line of machinery for reclaiming their waste products, we have developed and placed on the market machines that have proven themselves particularly well adapted for such work.
On the following pages illustrations and descriptions are given of the machines required in both the Coiler and Condenser Systems Of Reclamation of Waste. Estimates of machinery required for either system will be gladly furnished if samples of the waste to be used, average counts desired and production per week are given.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book provides detailed and illustrated descriptions of the machinery and processes used to transform cotton waste into marketable goods. It begins with an introduction to the growing problem of waste in cotton manufacturing and the economic benefits of its reduction. The author, an expert in textile manufacturing, then presents two distinct systems for reclaiming cotton waste: the Coiler System and the Condenser System. The Coiler System is based on traditional cotton processing methods, while the Condenser System is a more modern approach capable of handling a wider range of waste materials. Numerous diagrams and illustrations showcase the processes and machinery involved in each system, including bale breakers, willows, lappers, cards, spinning frames, and condensers. The author provides detailed specifications and explanations of each component, as well as insights into the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches. The book concludes with five plant designs for various waste-reclaiming operations, each tailored to specific waste grades and yarn requirements. These designs provide valuable guidance for manufacturers seeking to implement or improve their own waste reclamation systems. This book is an indispensable resource for textile manufacturers, engineers, and anyone interested in the efficient and profitable utilization of cotton waste. It offers a comprehensive understanding of the processes and machinery involved, enabling readers to optimize their operations and reduce waste while maximizing production.
