Ho raccolto in questo volumetto alcuni scrittarelli di argomento dantesco, che com parvero gia in periodici e giornali letterari. Ad eccezione di quello intitolato: Madonna Lisa e la Donna gentile, tutti sono noti ai cultori di cose dantesche; ma tutti emendai e corressi in guisa che, se la critica volesse giudicarli, desiderei tenesse conto di quest' ul tima stampa, nella quale ho introdotto muta menti e correzioni spesse volte sostanziali. Avrei voluto accogliere in questo volumetto anche lo scritto: Sull' ordinamento delle rime di Dante, pubblicato nel 1899 nel Giornale Dantesca del Conte Passerini, ma esso è pro prietà.
