Die gemalten Gurten an der Decke sind ein architektonischer Ge danke; wie sie mit den Streifen zwischen den Bildern unlöslich verbun den sind, so haben sie auch auf die gemalte Wandverkleidung unterhalb der Bilderstreifen Beziehung. Ein mageres, zierliches Zahnschnitt gesims geht rings an den Wänden der Kapelle unter den Bildern ent lang; darunter breiten sich, von durchlaufenden Streifen oben und unten eingefasst, in schöner Marmorierung gemalte quadratische Steinplatten aus, von denen immer zwei zusammen ein Paar bilden, dessen Breite mit der eines Gemäldes in dem historischen Zyklus ubereinstimmt. Zwischen jedem Doppelfeld ist in Grau eine allegorische Figur das Symbol einer Tugend oder eines Lasters gemalt, der eine flache rechteckige Nische als Hintergrund und Rahmung dient?)
