Je t'ai dit mon dernier mot sur La Blancherie dans le paquet que je destine à mademoiselle Leleu tu auras l'attention de te transporter au temps des dates pour éviter le galimatias. Je crois que vous lui faites bien de l'honneur, toutes les deux, en le supposant si fortement animé ce n'est pas tout à fait mon avis. Mais le meilleur de l'affaire c'est que je suis libre, sans avoir rien à regretter du reste. J'ai mérité mon estime et la sienne l'une ne sauroit me manquer plus que l'autre. Tout mon chagrin est d'avoir perdu la plus belle des illusions. Je ne crains nullement qu'il écrive je m'en suis ouvertement expli quée. Quant à Mignonne, je n'ai pas le moindre scrupule; non-seulement parce que je ne l'ai employée qu'à des choses irréproclnahles, mais parce qu'elle-même est persuadée avoir fait la meilleure oeuvre du monde.
