Excerpt from A Manual of Microscopical Technology for Use in the Investigations of Medicine and Pathological Anatomy
The translation was entered upon in 1884, but from various causes its completion has been delayed until the present time. However, by thus devoting to the work a much greater amount of time than would have been required for a merely literal rendering of the original, I have been enabled to carefully elaborate portions of cer tain chapters, Where such elaboration seemed likely to enhance the practical value of the manual in its new field.
