The main, central portion of this book focuses on the authorâs groundbreaking method of studying the rotation period of the Sun, which analyzes the motions of the calcium flocculi. After gathering data showing the movement of calcium flocculi over time, the author painstakingly analyzed the data, taking into account sources of error and using graphical methods. The book then compares the author's findings, yielding a rotation period for different latitudes, with previous research on sunspot motions, faculae motions, and the reversing layer. These three phenomena all exhibit an equatorial acceleration, a finding supported by the authorâs research with calcium flocculi.
