But) this I apprehend is a lmiitake; for Ihave perufed this author, without being able to meet with any fuch pafiage; and i have fearehed and made enquiries, but in vain, for the petition. It is more than probable, therefore, that this fl'iviiege was loft merely by difcontmuance, as was the cafe with {evctal other places; and a {hort examination of the ancient method of carrying into execution the ele€tive franchife will doubly warrant this fuppofition.
