In issuing the present catalogue the Au thor's chief object has been to render it useful to that special class of travellers, who whilst de siring a correct description of the different works of art, might from the limited time at their dis posal, consider the larger one too voluminous.
In furtherance of this object the Author has carefully abstained from any archaeological dis cassion, on the relative merit of the works of art mentioned herein.
