Excerpt from Abstracts of Inquisitions Post Mortem, Vol. 2
The Editor has met with the notice of a Fine, 50 Edward III., to which the second Thomas de Lathom and Johanna his wife were parties, by which it would appear that failing the issue of Thomas, who was apparently his son by his first wife, their daughter Isabella and her heirs male were next in succession; this upholds the usual record of the parentage of Isabella, the heiress who brought Lathom and Knowsley to the Stanleys, and contradicts the Opinion expressed by him on p. 20, vol. Xcv, that her mother was Isabella, daughter of Sir Roger de Pilkington.
