Excerpt from On the Doctrine of the Real Presence: Correspondence Between the Earl of Redesdale and the Honourable Charles L. Wood, President of the English Church Union
Now, in regard to the affirmative proposition I have nothing to say except the pleasure that I have in finding we are at one. You assert the presence of Our Lord's Body and Blood in the Eucharist; you reject the interpretation of those who see in the Eucharist only the figure Of an absent reality; you believe with me that it is not mere bread and wine which we receive in Holy Communion, but that His Body and Blood, in the words of the article, are given, taken, and received in tlie Eucharist, and that we are thereby made one with Him and He with us.
I therefore go on at once to the negative pro positions, iand address myself to the point upon which they turn - those assertions as to our Lord's nature and person, which are the real kernel of the matter.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the concept of the Real Presence, a fundamental belief in Christian theology, examining the true doctrine as derived from Scripture. The author challenges the Roman Catholic doctrine of transubstantiation, arguing instead that the bread and wine used in the sacrament are merely the means by which we receive Christ's body and blood through faith. The book provides a comprehensive analysis of the relevant biblical passages, offering a fresh perspective that seeks to reconcile differing viewpoints and promote a deeper understanding of this central tenet. The author's careful examination of the scriptural evidence sheds light on the true nature of Christ's presence in the sacrament, ultimately emphasizing the importance of faith and reverence in approaching this sacred rite.
