Officially reported Protestant foreign missionaries from North America now number just over The annual receipts of Protes tant North American agencies for foreign missions amount to $147 million, which seems a lot of money until one divides it by the number of church members and discovers that it represents per head.
Phenomena and issues so complex as those indicated in the preceding pages are not to be covered satisfactorily in any one volume. From the many excellent items in recent literature on missions (each of them more valuable, naturally, for some purposes and for some readers than for others) I here select a few, with a bias for the briefer books and for well-packed pamphlets.
