It has to thank the various Heads of Departments in the University for the information contained in Appendix I. It also desires to express its indebtedness to the Librarians of other Universities, many of whom have not merely put themselves to the very considerable trouble of answer ing the series of questions sent to them (see Appendix but have also furnished a large amount of further informa tion which has proved of the greatest possible service to the sub-committee.
