The illuminations TO this fine ms. Are remarkable EX amples OF english OR anglo-norman art OF the period. The Historiated Miniatures measure 24 by 2 ih. And 3 by 212 in. And are connected with fine large decorative initials with elongations down two margins, and are chicfly costumed figures in blue, red and grey on diapered grounds, within a blue and white ornamental border, in an outside gold frame. The Initials are painted in the outside and middle margins of the text, some times 6 on a page, and the elongations frequently extend the full length of the text. They are composedof floreate designs in blue, red, pink, grey and gold, and end in human and animal grotesques, some having full-length costumed figures at the apex.
