In conclusion, I have to thank that eminent body of Christians known as the Monks of St. Giles for their permission, courteously expressed through Father Peerie, to make use of the poems, Play on Paxton and Oro, which have already appeared in their collections. I have also to thank Mr. R. K. Inches for the use of the sketch of the Old Club-house at Bruntsfield Links, which has been reproduced as an illustration, and the Rev. Mr. Kerr for the loan of one or' two of the early numbers of the Golfers'
