Excerpt from A Compendium of the Law Relating to Executors and Administrators: With an Appendix of Statutes, Annotated by Means of References to the Text
In the Appendix will be found all the more pertinent of the enactments to which I have referred in the course of the work. Against them I have set references to the Text, so as, if not to provide in some sort, at no great expenditure of trouble 011 the reader's part, an annotated edition of select parts of various Acts of Parliament, at least to show the relations in which those select parts stand to the general subject.

The author begins by highlighting how the appointment of these figures can be determined by the will of the deceased, the action of the court, or even the implied intention of the deceased. These introductory chapters provide a comprehensive foundation from which the author moves on to discuss the various rights and obligations that come with these roles. The author closely examines the duties that Executors and Administrators must fulfill throughout the administration of an estate, such as funeral management, filing probate, and managing outstanding debts. Not only are their responsibilities discussed, but also the powers that they have in carrying out their roles, such as the ability to sell property and represent the estate in legal proceedings. Lastly, the book addresses issues that stem from disputes regarding the deceased's will, their estate, or claims against the estate.
