The following work was undertaken for the assistance of those who value the ordinance of family worship. It will be found to contain explanatory and practical lectures on the New Testa ment, conveyed in such plain, intelligible language as will best suit the capacities of the various branches of a family. This may suffice to explain the design of the author in undertaking this commentary it remains for me to state the reasons which induced me to enter on the responsible task of revision.
