Excerpt from Organization and Administration, Vol. 1: Factory Management Course
Experience with a large variety of manufacturing concerns has convinced me that the difierence between the successful and the unsuccessful concern is simply the difierence between the right and the wrong consideration of that most important of all factors in industry - the human factor. The more I analyze matters, the more certain I become that man is the real investment in business. Money is of course important, materials and machinery have to be purchased, but beyond and above all these things stands man. The success of an enterprise depends entirely upon the men who are charged with the care and handling of the material resources. In other words, a wise investment in men insures a good return in dollars and cents, and a poor investment in men means, sooner or later, the failure of the concern.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book details that the evolution from primitive man to the modern era has consistently followed a cycle of conflict, development, refinement, and decay. Seeing the post-World War 1 era as the start of a new cycle, the author believes the focus of development will be the optimization and refinement of human resources through organization and efficient administration. He suggests that by reconsidering approaches to labor and focusing on the human element, we can see vast improvements in both efficiency and worker contentment. He discusses essential considerations for improving the lives of the workforce, such as education, thoughtful consideration of fatigue and physical welfare, and the elimination of strenuous work environments. By incorporating leadership, inspiration, and ingenuity into management styles, business owners can cultivate a sense of purpose, loyalty, and satisfaction within their workforce and thereby increase output while reducing turnover.
