The Forms Of Worship in this Manual are derived from the Holy Scriptures and the ancient Christian liturgies, except a few selections from various modern formularies, and some needed examples not afforded by such sources. They contain nothing sectarian or denominational; and are here arranged upon the principle of retaining as much as possible of what is common to all Christian people, and as little as pos sible of what is peculiar to any.
In the absence Of clergymen, the Manual may be used by laymen.
