Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is an architectural engineering guide to designing and constructing steel roofs and buildings by the renowned architect Charles Evan Fowler. Steel was a revolutionary material in the late 19th century, and the information in this book was pivotal in the construction of robust, durable buildings that continue to serve society today. For instance, The 'Woolworth Building,' built-in 1913, used design concepts detailed in this publication to become the tallest building in the world at that time. While the edition in question here is from 1899, over 120 years ago, the general principles of steel construction hold true even today, making this an important historical record as well as a source of useful information for modern builders.
