Excerpt from Quantitative Analysis of the Ecological Distribution of a Tropical Herpetofauna
The objectives of the present study are threefold: 1) to deter mine the ecological distribution Of 62 species of frogs, salamanders, and lizards within the rainforest environment of Belém; 2) to ana lyze the environmental parameters affecting the distribution of species; and 3) to compare and contrast the major areas with re gard to species composition. The ecological distribution of the herpetofauna presented here is based on data obtained in one small area in part of the year. A similar study carried out from August through January or in a different area probably would yield some what different results.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book analyzes the ecological distribution of amphibians and reptiles within the rainforest environment of Belà m, Brazil. The author, a graduate student, conducted field research from 2019 to 2020, collecting data from various forest types, including capoeira, terra firme, varzea, and igapà . The study aimed to determine species distribution, analyze environmental factors, and compare species composition across different areas. Through contingency table analysis, the author identified environmental gradients affecting species distribution, characterized the major forest areas, and determined the habitat of each species. The book provides valuable insights into the ecological dynamics of rainforest herpetofauna, demonstrating the intricate relationships between species and their environment.
