Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book challenges the common assumptions in organizational research. It examines the widely held beliefs that relationships between organizational factors and employee performance are stable over time and that measurements of these factors and output occur simultaneously. To reach these conclusions, the author conducted a six-year study of 151 engineers, measuring their performance against six organizational factors, including involvement, influence, and salary. The study revealed that while the relationships between these factors and performance were generally stable, they were significantly stronger when performance was measured before the organizational factor. This suggests that changes in organizational factors often follow performance, not precede it. The author argues that this insight has been overlooked in previous research, and it should be considered in organizational theory and research designs. By highlighting the dynamic nature of the relationship between organizational factors and performance, this book provides valuable insights for managers and researchers alike.
