Excerpt from Studies in Religion: Being the Destiny of Man; The Idea of God; Through Nature to God; Life Everlasting
As the essay contains an epitome of my own original contributions to the doctrine of evo lution, I have added at the end a short list of references to other works of mine, where the points here briefly mentioned are more fully argued and illustrated.1 The views regarding the progress of human society, and the climi nation of warfare, are set forth at greater length in a little book now in the press, and soon to appear, entitled American Political Ideas.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book traces humanity's origins, from the Copernican revolution to Darwin's theory of evolution and reveals that these advances in thought did not diminish the significance of human life but, in fact, expanded our understanding of its place in the universe. The author illuminates how we have moved from a primitive, self-serving species to one capable of profound thought and complex relationships. Through the work of scholars like Copernicus and Darwin, we have come to understand that humanity is not at the center of the universe, and yet we are no less special in our ability to adapt, learn, and shape our world. This book shows that the destiny of humankind is not set, but continually in progress and improvement. The author presents a vision of humanity that is both inspiring and grounded in scientific fact. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
