Excerpt from A Commentary on the Vision of Zechariah, the Prophet: With a Corrected Translation and Critical Notes
The narrative is contained in~a small compass, ogcupying no more than seventy seven verses, which extend from the eighth verse of the first chapter to the end of the sixth. But though a short, it is an highly interesting portion of holy writ, evidently including much, that meets not the simple apprehension, and more, than has yet been unfolded to studious observation. I do not doubt therefore, that a commentary upon it will be acceptable to those, who are disposed to search the pr0phetic parts of the sacred writings.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is an exposition on a vision from the Bible's Book of Zechariah. In the second year of Darius' reign (520 bc), Zechariah has a vision of a man on a fiery red horse, along with three groups of horsemen on variously colored horses. An angel explains that these are God's messengers, sent out to patrol the earth, and that the red horse represents God's wrath. The angel intercedes on behalf of Jerusalem, and God responds with a promise to restore the city. The book expounds on the vision, examining its historical context and its relevance to the broader story of God's intervention in human history, and his ultimate plan to restore his people and establish his kingdom on earth.
