Excerpt from Memorial Edition of Collected Works of W. J. Fox, Vol. 11: Reports of Miscellaneous Lectures at South-Place Chapel, Finsbury
The plan followed by the editors has been, to restore defective passages whenever the Mss. Supplied sufficient indications to do so correctly; and to omit, rather than to attempt to rewrite, other passages that were in hopeless confusion.
In justice to Mr. Fox, the Lectures which he did not pre pare for the press have been kept distinct, in this edition, from those which he published during his lifetime, or left in an approximately complete state and notwithstanding some defects which a critical eye may discern in the former class, they will be found worthy not only of preservation and diligent perusal, but of their author's fame.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book consists of a collection of lectures and sermons written by W. J. Fox between 1838â"1841. The author uses these lectures to present his own personal definition of truth. For Fox, truth is not merely the acquisition of vast amounts of knowledge but rather is found in the act of coming to know in accordance with our own individuality. Throughout the book, the author grapples with the nature of truth as it pertains to the external world, the moral universe, and the inner workings of human nature. Fox argues that truth is not so much a destination as it is a process, one that unfolds over the course of an individual's life and is expressed in their individuality. He emphasizes the importance of intellectual, emotional, and practical elements of truth as a foundation for both personal and societal well-being. The author also explores the ways in which truth can be distorted by the influence of social and political power, as well as the role of literature in cultivating a deeper understanding of truth.
