This is an Arithmetic, but is minus the rules and common-place illustrations which are so prominent in the ordinary arithmetic. Its aim is to assist the teacher, not to stand in his place. Its pages, there fore, are filled with concrete problems, graded to the capacity of the average child. The course covers five or six years of the grammar school life of the pupil, say from eight to fifteen years of age.
It is divided into three books, each book being again divided into two parts, with about 800 problems in each part. Book I. Is for pupils of from 8 to 11 years of age; Book II. For pupils of from 10 to 13 years; and Book III. For boys and girls of from 12 to 15 years.
