In the co wifdom, and power, providence, in the dem tial univerfal goodnefs, immutable faithfulnefs, we perceive obligations to te femblance in fpirit and our fellow creatures; even as the ing difpofition in us, to promote order, peace and pleafure, is the very, un1on and harmony of the human God. Altured we are, that this obl fults from the law of relation we are all of the fame nature, have (11111111 fa culties, powers, and perceptions, fenfations and inclinations. That is to fay, we are all C qually capable of receiving pain or pleafure, eithe1 as the truth of action appears to be expreffed towards us, or as there is a viola tion of truth in men's treatment of us. And becaufe We are capable of the fame fort of imprefiions from that attribute 611 truth, which we call goodnefs the regard to our own felicity obliges to a religious obfervance.
