Chapter II. Is devoted to the functions of acute angles, the definitions being given by aid of the right triangle; a number of numerical and other exercises serve to give familiarity With them, and the usual fundamental relations are deduced. In Chapter III. The principles of the rectangular co - ordinates of a point in a plane are employed to give general definitions of the functions, applicable to angles of any magnitude, positive or negative, and the fundamental relations are proved to hold universally.
