Excerpt from The Morris Book, Vol. 2: With a Description of Dances as Performed by the Morris-Men of England
The original edition of this book was published ten years ago when the revival of folk dancing was still in its infancy, so that a second edition has been long overdue. It will be seen that besides revising the technical descriptions and bringing them into line with the enlarged method of notation used in the other volumes of this series, three of the old dances have been omitted and seven new ones added, five of the latter representing a fresh and hitherto undiscovered tradition.
