Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a generalized superposition principle for solving complex electromagnetic propagation problems in non-homogeneous mediums. The principle allows the solution of problems for layered mediums, in which the non-homogeneity occurs in horizontal layers, to be built up from the solution of a simpler problem. This method reduces the problem of dipole propagation in a layered medium to the simpler problem of solving a plane-wave problem in the same medium. Solutions to the dipole problem are constructed from those of the plane-wave problem through the use of a generalized superposition principle in conjunction with integral representation. The principle is of great theoretical value and has many practical applications in the fields of radio engineering and propagation of high-frequency waves. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
