Excerpt from Second Middle English Primer: Extracts From Chaucer, With Grammar and Glossary
In the present edition I have cut out most of the ms. Readings. As I consider such details superfluous in a book of this character. I have, of course, carefully revised the phonetic notation. I have not added any notes, for which I must refer the reader to the editions of Professor Skeat.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a comprehensive study of the language and grammar of the Middle English period. The author focuses on Chaucers language as found in the Minor Poems, the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, and the Pardoner's Tale and examines them in the light of scholarly research from the mid-19th century onwards. This research includes the positions of Ten Brink, Henry Nicol, and Skeat and helps put Chaucer's language in a wider literary, social, and linguistic context. Another valuable element of this book is the phonetic transcription of the majority of the texts and a grammar that illustrates the development of Middle English from Old English.
