Mr. K. W'. Blackwell, a past president, was in the chair, and prior to introducing Mr. Johnson, referred to the death of Mr. J. Hobson, who was a great engi neer, and who had done splendid work, especially in railway engineering. He hoped the Council would send a message of condolence to the family.
