Excerpt from Code of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Orient of Illinois, Valley of Chicago
And we do hereby declare the precedence of said Oriental Consistory to commence from the twentieth day of Sivan, 5617, answering to the fourteenth day of May, A. D. 1857, hereby ratifying and confirming all constitutional acts heretofore done by said Consistory.
In testimony whereof, we, Sovereign Grand inspectors-gen eral and active members of the supreme council of the Thirty third Degree, above named, sitting in the said City of Boston, do hereby grant unto the above named Brethren this special warrant, and do subscribe our names, and cause to be affixed the great seal OF our council, in the Chamber of the Council, this third day Of corresponding to the sixteenth of November, A. D. 1871.
