Scott, late Science Master at Stratford Grammar School, whose early death is deeply regretted, was re sponsible for the bulk of the photographs, which he took expressly for this work. Photographs were also contributed by Mr Sale of Atherstone and Mr F. A. Newdegate, m.p., and various industrial firms. Mr F. S. Potter of Halford advised the author throughout and kindly read the proofs; Mr Edwin Smith of Great Alne also gave kind advice and made valuable suggestions.
