Fünfzehn Jahre sind vergangen, seit die letzte Ausgabe dieses Werkes erschienen ist. In dieser Zeit gab es zahlreiche Entscheidungen in Bezug auf das behandelte Thema. In der vorliegenden Ausgabe wurde es für wünschenswert angesehen, während zum größten Teil das ursprüngliche Arrangement beibehalten wird, das gesamte Werk gründlich zu überarbeiten und einige Teile davon komplett neu zu schreiben. Es wurde eine große Menge neuer Dinge eingeführt, aber es hat sich als möglich erwiesen, dies zu tun und auch den Index zu vergrößern, ohne das Buch zu vergrößern, was in der letzten Ausgabe veraltet oder unnötig war, wurde weggelassen. Der vergrößerte Index wird es hoffentlich einfacher auf den Text verweisen und die Nützlichkeit der vorliegenden Ausgabe erhöhen.
