Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a collection of significant Crown Law cases adjudicated by the English judiciary over a significant period of English history. It contains prominent cases from the reigns of George II, George III, and into the earliest years of George IV. These cases present a panorama of criminal law as it existed during that eventful era, with the accused ranging from common criminals to peers of the realm, and even members of parliament. These cases illustrate the evolution of criminal law and procedure in England, and they provide insights into the social, political, and economic conditions of the time. Of particular interest is the inclusion of cases relating to the press and the law of seditious libel, which were of great importance during a period of significant political and social change. The author's detailed account of each case, including the evidence presented and the arguments of counsel, provides a comprehensive and engaging look at English criminal law in the era and makes this book a valuable resource for legal scholars and historians alike.
