Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a historical investigation into the development of the English Parliament during King Charles I's contentious reign. The text is comprised of excerpts from parliamentary debates and other primary sources detailing the heightened tensions between the King and Parliament over issues of taxation and the control of the militia. The collection of documents provides insight into the struggle for power between the monarchy and the representative body of the English people. The author's thorough analysis of the proceedings sheds light on the evolving relationship between the two institutions and the significance of these debates in shaping the course of English history.
