Excerpt from The Medical Record, Vol. 21: A Weekly Journal of Medicine and Surgery; January 7, 1882-June 24, 1882
AT the meeting of the Medical Society of the State of New York, held on February 4, 1880, it was resolved: That the president appoint a committee, consist ing of five members, to cc-operate with the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Chil dren in all things pertaining to the physical and moral welfare and safety of infants and children, and report at the next annual meeting.
Such a committee was appointed, and we have its report now before us. From it we learn that on January 31, 1881, the president of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children addressed a letter to Dr. A. Jacobi, as vice-president of the State Medical Society, suggesting certain points for the consideration of this latter society.
