Baltimore City under an act passed at the last session of the' Legislature, is about to complete a new assessment within her limits, which will probably show a large increase of both real and personal property, and especially of the latter. Should our present tax laws remain in ierco, equity will shortly require a new assessment for the entire State.

By an examination of Statement A, of the Appendix, it will appear that of the receipts in 1858, the sum of 03189 was received for revenue which accrued in that year, and 56 was received on account of former years.
