Excerpt from The Trinity Archive, Vol. 11: October, 1897-May, 1898
In reply to an argument that we have a perfect right to do what we please with our Own, he says, So that, con elusively, in political as in household economy, the great question is, not how much money you have in your pocket as what you will buy with it, and do with it. He does not believe in the school of economists who declare that business of whatever sort, is salutory, but rather in that school who assert that the life is more than meat, and the body than raiment. Again he says: The wealth of nations as of men consists in substance, not in ciphers and the real good of all work and of all commerce depends on the final worth of the thing you make, or get by it.
